Actor Amol Parashar, who plays one of the principal characters of the web series Tripling, the third season of which released recently, says his lookout towards divorce and separation is similar to that of his character, Chitvan.
The story of the new season revolves around three siblings — Chandan, Chanchal and Chitvan — and how they deal with the decision of their parents, who are planning to part ways after their more than three-decades-long marriage.
In a conversation with OTTplay, Amol shares his thoughts on the concept of amicable separations.
Amol says, "I think that the logical part of my brain is in alignment with Chitvan. I share Chitvan's beliefs on divorce and separation. When you look at a relationship and its journey, you understand that two people separating is also part of their relationship journey. But, sometimes, feelings can come in the way of logic. Since love is such a strong emotion, a break up is painful."
He added, "Obviously, there is pain, especially when you see your parents separate after 30 years of marriage. But the fact is that no one should control their feelings or decisions. That way, there is a constant tussle between two parts of your brain — one of logic and the other of emotion."
This was the first time Amol worked with two veteran actors — Sharnaz Patel and Kumud Mishra, who essay the characters of Charu Sharma and Chinmay Sharma, respectively.
The actor has admired watching both the actors on stage as theatre artistes, so what was his experience of working with them in Tripling Season 3? Amol said, "We really matched vibes. You know, despite being such veteran actors, with so much command over their craft, they always talk to us with a lot of warmth. When they walk, I feel like hugging them. So, them playing my parents onscreen was an equation that developed quite organically."
The story Tripling Season 3 is written by Arunabh Kumar and Sumeet Vyas. It is directed by Neeraj Udhwani, and also stars Maanvi Gagroo, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Shernaz Patel, Kumud Mishra, Sumeet Vyas among. It is available to stream on OTTplay and ZEE5.
