The narrative of the latest season of web series Tripling has shifted gears from the three siblings - Chandan, Chanchal and Chitvan - to their parents Charu and Chinmay, who decide to part ways. Actress Maanvi Gagroo, who plays Chanchal, shares her real-life reference point for her performance.
Asked if she has any close counter with parents' separation in real life, Maanvi told OTTplay, "After the first lockdown, one of my close friend's parents was going through a divorce and my friend was shaken. I saw that. She was all over the place and her whole idea of love, marriage, and togetherness went for a toss. I really felt for her. After that, when I got the script for season three of Tripling, I managed to relate to what Chanchal was going through in the show."
"It is true that our basic idea of a relationship and family starts from our parents, so when they decide to separate after so many years, it is only natural to feel emotionally broken," the actress adds.
Maanvi also shared a sweet childhood memory with us. "When I was in school, one of my classmates also had parents who were divorced. But even after separation, they were in a harmonious relationship. Both her parents got married also later. I was like, 'Arrey waah, she has two sets of mummy and papa'! (laughs). We were innocent then," recalled the actress.
The third season of the show was one of the much-awaited ones, as the first two seasons was loved by the audience. The first season was released in 2016, and the second came out in 2019.
The new season is written by Sumeet Vyas and directed by Neeraj Udhwani, also starring Amol Parashar, Kumud Mishta, Shernaz Patel in pivotal characters. It is available to stream on OTTplay and ZEE5.
