Director Arun Bose’s debut directorial Luca stood apart for its visuals and storytelling, and won hearts for its two central characters essayed by Tovino Thomas and Ahaana Krishna. His next movie Mindiyum Paranjum again revolves around a couple and the makers revealed its first look poster recently.

Talking to OTTplay, Arun, who had shot the movie during the second lockdown, tells us, “It’s a full-length feature film that revolves around a married couple essayed by Unni Mukundan and Aparna Balamurali. It’s a mature love story. I have been a huge fan of movies such as Before Sunset and Before Sunrise, and I love telling stories that about the male and female perspectives.”

The film, which also has Jude Anthany, Maala Parvathi, Geethi Sangeetha, Sohan Seenulal, RJ Murugan and Jaffer Idukki as part of the cast, has Unni and Aparna essaying the characters named Sanal and Leena, respectively. The movie also marks National Award-winning actress Aparna’s second upcoming release that is produced by Salim Ahammed.

On working with Unni and Aparna in the film, he says, “We made it during the second lockdown. “They are both extremely dedicated people to work it. They are also available all the time and that helps a lot.”

Further on Mindiyum Paranjum, Arun explains, “It is not made on a scale as big as Luca and is not an experimental film either. Unni plays a Gulf Malayali and there’s an expatriate in almost every household in Kerala. So, this will be a story that people could relate to.”

With Aparna's Sundari Gardens has been confirmed for a Sony LIV release, ask Arun whether Mindiyum Paranjum too will head the OTT way and he says, “We still haven’t made that decision. This is a film that is good to go in any medium. We will take the final call after the entire work is complete.”

The team has almost completed the post production of the film. “We are currently busy with its colour grading and sound mixing,” says Arun. The film, which is co-scripted by Arun and Mridul George, has Madhu Ambat as its cinematographer and Sooraj S Kurup as its composer.
