Exclusive! Ushasi Ray on Ayurekha: Debuting in a film as Ritwick Chakraborty’s assistant is a dream-come-true moment for me

After working in television and OTT, Ushasi Ray is all geared up to debut on the big screen. The actress will team up with Ritwick Chakraborty, Kamaleswar Mukhopadhyay, Bonnie Sengupta, and others in Rajdeep Ghosh’s Ayurekha. Billed as a thriller, the film will delve into the mystery of serial killers. Several astrologers are suddenly murdered in the city. Police investigators come to solve the mystery. 

Ushasi is clearly very excited about her first film. “Even before learning about my character, I said yes because of Ritwickda. In the film, I will be assisting Ritwickda and I have always been in awe of his talent. I am delighted to debut on the big screen in a film that has him in the lead. Debuting in a film as Ritwick Chakraborty’s assistant is a dream come true moment for me. Ever since the offer came, I was very excited. I could not tell anyone till it is officially announced. I am playing the role of an investigator,” said the actress. Ushasi has just completed working on Indranil Roychowdhury’s Zee5 web series, Chhotolok. “That was another learning experience for me. I worked primarily opposite Gourav Chakrabarty and a few scenes with Priyankadi (Sarkar),” she said. 

Meanwhile, Rajdeep told Anandabazar, “This is a thriller. The audience will get every type of entertainment, and it will be a tight and exciting mystery.' Ritwick is also keen to see himself in this new type of role. He said, “This is a good story, different in nature. I hope the audience will like it. I am given the task to solve the murders. I can not say anything more.”

The shooting will start on November 15. Shooting will be done at different parts of Kolkata.
