Though with each project he proved his versatility as an actor and has built his fan base among the audience, Jayavant Kashinath Talpade aka JK from The Family Man is one of them - no one ever imagined that actor Sharib Hashmi could play such a negative character like Babloo in his latest released film Vikram Vedha.

Since the Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan starrer is still running in the theatres and we refrain from giving away any spoilers for the audience, all that we could say is that Sharib will take everyone by surprise in the climax scene.

In conversation with OTTplay, he opened up about becoming part of the world of Vikram Vedha.

Asked about how he approached the character of Babloo, Sharib told OTTplay, " Firstly I watched the original Tamil film when it was released and really enjoyed watching it. Then I remember when I was approached by the makers for my casting, I was very surprised to know how they thought of me to play the character of Babloo."

"Like the way no one imagined me to play such a dark character, even I never thought that I will get the chance to do so...of course as an actor you want to play something completely opposite of who you are in real life but it all depends on opportunity," added the actor.

It is quite interesting to observe that when the actor shared on social media that he will be part of the Hindi remake of Vikram Vedha, his fans thought that he would play some other characters.

"I got so many DMs on social media where people were guessing me playing either Vikram's best friend or some other character. So finally when our film was released and they saw me in Babloo's character, they were surprised," shared the Filmistaan famed actor.

As we know before convincing the audience of a new character, every actor goes through a process of convincing the makers that they can pull it off, through an audition. There was no exception for Sharib either.

"I went through the test for my character, a small audition along with a look test. I remember, after seeing my audition everyone who was present there told me, 'arey waah! tum to kamina bhi ho sakte ho!'," laughed Sharib.

In the film, Hrithik plays a gangster named Vedha and Babloo works under him.

Since both actors shared multiple scenes together on-screen, according to Sharib, feeling comfortable with his co-star who is also a superstar, was very important.

"The best part of working with Hrithik sir is, he does not have any baggage of stardom on set. He is a total giving co-actor. When we had scene reading or there are times when I was standing and giving que and he had his close-ups, he would say, 'ye achha lag raha hai, uska close up lena, screen pe achha lagega...'. He is such a secure, giving actor who is always thinking about the bigger picture, and overall scene rather than one character. I think that makes him the superstar that he is, that is why he is loved by all," Sharib signed off.

Directed by Pushkar and Gayatri, and also starring Radhika Apte, Rohit Saraf and Yogita Bihani, Vikram Vedha is running in the theatre.
