Extraction 2: Look who's joined Chris Hemsworth & Co. on the new mission! It's Idris Elba!

Chris Hemsworth will soon return in all his mercenary glory as the extraction expert Tyler Rake, the man trusted this time around with a mission deadlier than anything else before. Extraction 2 debuts on Netflix on June 16 and Hemsworth is joined by the usual suspects Golshifteh Farahani, Adam Bessa and others with Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili coming on board the much-awaited sequel. 

Aside from the deadly combative action and high-stakes operations that the film promises to feature, fans can also look forward to Idris Elba's presence in the scheme of things. The charming British actor, as revealed by the latest teaser shared by Netflix, joins the exciting cast of Extraction 2 as an integral element of the mission that involves the rescuing of a 'battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster'. Elba, as the mysterious Man in the Suit, positions Hemsworth's Tyler Rake at the centre of it all and the latter must employ all his wits and combat skills to get this done. 

"Rake, that’s such a fun name to say,” says Idris Elba to his Thor co-star in his quintessential smoothness. Elba was recently reprising his famous role of Detective Chief Inspector John Luther in Netflix's original Luther: The Fallen Sun. 

As far as Extraction 2 is concerned, Sam Hargrave and Joe Russo reunite as director and writer after delivering an action spectacle in 2020 with the first instalment of this latest film franchise. If Extraction, which included a slew of noted Indian actors such as Randeep Hooda and Pankaj Tripathi, saw Tyler Rake put his life on the line to rescue or extract the son of an incarcerated drug lord, the sequel will see him come back from the dead to take on something mightier. As Netflix's press release details, Rake must tackle the demons of his past to fulfil what's expected of him.
