In India, Joseph Kosinski's F1, starring Brad Pitt, has debuted on OTT. You can now rent the film on Prime Video for Rs. 499. It was released in theatres on June 27, 2025.
This film chronicles the story of Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a Formula One driver from the 1990s who had a bright career but had it cut short due to an accident. 30 years down the road, he gets the call from his old teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem) to get back on the track for APXGP, a failing team that's about to fold. Hotshot youngster Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), who becomes Hayes' colleague and adversary, is forced to compete alongside him.
Kate McKenna, played by Kerry Condon, is the technical director of APXGP and the love interest of Hayes. Peter Banning, played by Tobias Menzies, is a team board member.

Ehren Kruger weaves real-life developments in Formula One into the plot. Filmed from real races, the racing sequences featured cameos from Formula One teams and drivers. Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, was also actively involved as a producer on the film.
Composer Hans Zimmer oversaw the soundtrack's creation, with help from several other musicians.
When it premiered in theatres around the world at the tail end of June 2025, F1 received mostly favourable reviews. The critics were quite complimentary of Pitt's portrayal of Sonny Hayes and of Kosinski's directing of the racing scenes. Despite spending an estimated $200–$300 million on production, the film has earned $595 million worldwide. At the box office, it surpassed all of Pitt's previous efforts, becoming the tenth highest-grossing film of 2025.
The sports drama is now available in India to watch online. Digital rentals of F1 on Prime Video start at Rs. 499. As is typical with the platform's rental model, users have a limited amount of time after purchase to stream the film.
F1 has been gaining admirers in India during its theatrical release, thanks to its blend of Hollywood plot points, actual Formula One events, and a star-studded ensemble headed by Brad Pitt.
