Two Manchester rivals are all set to lock horns on Saturday at Wembley Stadium. Premier League champion Manchester City will play to defend the title as Manchester United will fight to secure a place in the UEFA Europa League next season. In fact, United finished 31 points behind City in the Premier League table and must win the Saturday match to qualify for the Europa League.
These two rivals met last year as well. Last year, Pep Guardiola's City defeated United 2-1 as they clinched a win in FA Cup, besides, Premier League and Champions League. The team lifted the Premier League trophy for a record-breaking fourth season in a row. If City wins the FA Cup, it will be the first club to win the trophy in two consecutive years after Arsenal in 2013-14 and 2014-15. On the other hand, United have won the cup 12 times in the past, while City bagged seven wins. However, United has not won the Cup since 2016.
In the semis, City defeated Chelsea 1-0 with their last-minute goal from Bernardo Silva in the 84th minute. On the other hand, Manchester United took on Coventry City and tied at 3-3. A penalty shootout of 4-2 secured their place in the final.
