After the success of Oh My God (OMG) and Oh My God 2, which were praised for tackling sensitive societal issues, the makers are preparing for OMG 3. While earlier reports hinted that Rani Mukerji would star alongside Akshay Kumar, the latest update claimed that she is not associated with the film.

A source as per Variety India revealed that Rani Mukerji was in talks to headline Oh My Goddess (OMG 3), with Akshay Kumar set to reprise his role in an extended cameo. Although the actress heard a brief description and was interested in the idea, the discussion did not proceed further.
“Akshay and Rani share a great long-standing relationship and were genuinely excited about teaming up, but those were very early conversations,” added the source.

The new instalment is said to feature a bolder and more socially relevant storyline, while maintaining the franchise's signature blend of humour and commentary. Amit Rai, who directed OMG 2 starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam, will once again helm the project.
Produced by Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment along with Akshay Kumar’s banner, the film is now searching for a new female lead after Rani Mukerji is no longer a part of it. Meanwhile, the shooting is expected to begin in May or June 2026.
