The news that Renji Panicker is returning to the director's chair after a long hiatus of 16 years had delighted Malayalam movie buffs. What added to the excitement was that Fahadh Faasil would be headlining the project. Now in the latest update, reports claim that production of the film will begin next year in March.

According to a report by CinemaExpress, Joby George, the producer of the film, has confirmed that the production will start in March 2025. The yet-to-be-titled film is being produced by Joby George, under the banner of Goodwill Entertainment.
The Renji Panicker directorial was announced earlier this year on August 8 (Fahadh Faasil’s birthday) . While announcing the project, the makers had also released a special promo video, featuring Fahadh Faasil. In the promo, the camera follows a jeep moving through a hilly terrain before we are introduced to Fahadh Faasil’s character.
The film is also written by Renji Panicker, who is known for scripting popular films such as Suresh Gopi-starrer Commissioner and Mammootty's The King. However, not much is known about the rest of the cast and crew. Renji Panicker last directed the Mammootty-starrer Roudram way back in 2008. However, the noted filmmaker-writer has also made an impression with his acting skills in several movies, especially in the last decade. Ohm Shanthi Oshaana and Jacobinte Swargarajyam are some of his notable movies as an actor.
Fahadh Faasil’s films
Fahadh Faasil’s latest film to hit the screen is Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna. Fahadh appears as SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat in the much-talked-about sequel. Despite mixed reviews by critics and audiences, Pushpa continues to dominate the box office.
On the other hand, Fahadh has an interesting line-up of films coming up. He is working on the Malayalam film Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, which is directed by Althaf Salim. The film is said to be a romantic comedy.
The Pushpa star will also be joining hands with debutant filmmaker Roy for a movie titled Karate Chandran. He also has a project with Guruvayoor Ambakanadayil director Vipin Das, that will mark Tamil actor SJ Surya's debut in Malayalam.
