Looks like Hombale Films' Malayalam connection is getting stronger by the day. After having collaborated with Prithviraj Sukumaran for the distribution of K.G.F: Chapter 2, the Bengaluru-based production house brought the actor in him on board the mega Salaar project. In the same vein, Hombale would announce that it is venturing into the Malayalam Film Industry by bankrolling Prithviraj's next directorial Tyson which is likely to be a 2024 release.
And to further extend its association with Malayalam Cinema, Hombale Films brought the industry's other marquee actor Fahadh Faasil into the family with the multilingual Dhoomam. The Pawan Kumar directorial is a Malayalam film that will be released in all four south Indian languages, including Kannada, and as per the latest developments, team Dhoomam has already wrapped up the shoot and is currently in the post-production phase.
But that isn't it. It would seem that Hombale Films and Fahadh Faasil have hit it off quite well as the Malik actor now gears up to make his full-fledged Kannada debut under the same banner. As per the latest reports, the team of Bagheera has brought Fahadh on board to play a major role in the action drama which is currently in the making.
Fahadh, as revealed by sources close to a popular media outlet, is most likely to play the role of a supercop who is an integral member of the CBI. Bagheera, a Dr. Suri directorial, stars Sriimurali and Rukmini Vasanth in the lead with the former, too, essaying the role of a cop and it would be interesting to see how his character fares in contrast to the one that Fahadh Faasil is playing. The same reports haven't divulged whether, or not, the Malayalam actor plays a negative role in the film. Another highlight of Bagheera is Prashanth Neel penning the story.
Very recently, Sriimurali endured a major injury on the sets of Bagheera while performing a stunt sequence. The actor had to undergo a complicated ACL surgery in his left knee and has been advised to stay away from work for close to 3 months. With the makers intending on releasing Bagheera in 2023, one could expect the production to continue in Sriimurali's absence and the Ugramm actor to resume his duties soon after he recovers. Fahadh Faasil, on the other hand, will reportedly join the team in February.
