Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira is expected to Fahadh Faasil’s next Malayalam venture after Aavesham
In Malayalam, actress Kalyani Priyadarshan has had a nearly flawless record at the box office so far. The actress, who was last seen in Tovino Thomas-starrer Thallumaala, will once again be doing a romcom – this time with Fahadh Faasil in the lead, as per reports.
Kalyani, who had teamed up with Dulquer Salmaan in Varane Avashyamund and Prithviraj Sukumaran in Bro Daddy, has reportedly been roped in as the female lead in Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela director Althaf Salim’s sophomore venture Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira.
In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Althaf had clarified that the film will be a full-length romcom, something that Fahadh has not done so far. Considering the chemistry Kalyani has had with her co-stars including Pranav Mohanlal in films of the genre, it would be interesting to see the fresh pair on screen.
Fahadh had previously also told us that he is expected to begin work on the Althaf Salim directorial by November this year. The filmmaker and actor had shared screen space earlier this year for Akhil Sathyan’s Pachuvum Athbuthavilakkum.
Kalyani Priyadarshan has back-to-back releases
Meanwhile, Kalyani has two big releases coming up this year – the first of which will be veteran filmmaker Joshiy’s thriller Antony. The movie, which also has Joju George, Nyla Usha and Chemban Vinod Jose in the lead, is scripted by Rajesh Varma and is touted to be an emotional thriller. The film’s teaser is set to be released along with Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Leo in theatres on October 19.
The actress also has debutant Manu C Kumar’s Sesham Mikeil Fathima, which has her essaying the titular character of a football announcer . The movie, which had wrapped up its shoot earlier this year, was initially scheduled to hit theatres in July but has been pushed.
Manu had exclusively told OTTplay that the film, which is set in Malappuram, showcases “an inspirational journey” of Kalyani’s character Fathima.
Kalyani to team up with Pranav Mohanlal again
The actress is also set to work with Hridayam team of Vineeth Sreenivasan and Pranav Mohanlal in the upcoming movie Varshangalkku Shesham, which will go on floors later this month. The movie, which is set in the 80s and 90s, also has a huge star cast, including Nivin Pauly, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Neeraj Madhav and Basil Joseph.
