After being part of intense films such as Joji and Malik, Fahadh Faasil is all set to work on a few commercial entertainers in Malayalam this year. The actor, who recently wrapped up shooting for the Tamil films Vikram and Maamannan, is next set to join the second schedule of Akhil Sathyan’s debut directorial Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum.

The team had wrapped a schedule without the actor prior to the pandemic, and Fahadh will start shooting his portions in the movie from April 15, according to reports. The movie will have the star playing the role of a Mumbai-based Malayali youngster.

Touted to be an entertainer, the realistic movie revolves around a young girl and an older woman, and how Fahadh’s character connects both of them during his journey to Kerala. Apart from Fahadh, the movie also has Sidhique, Vijayaraghavan and Vineeth, along with three heroines.

Fahadh’s character travels from Mumbai to Kerala and then to Goa in the film, and the team had initially shot a few portions for its second half in Mumbai. The film’s music is composed by Justin Prabhakar while Sharan Velayudhan is its cinematographer.

Meanwhile, the actor will next be seen in Malayankunju, which will also mark his first theatrical release in Malayalam since the pandemic. The survival thriller, helmed by Sajimon, is scripted by Mahesh Narayanan and has Fahadh playing a character who repairs electronics. The film, which is about a man who gets trapped in a landslide, is currently aiming at a May 19 release.

Fahadh has also signed a romcom with Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela director Althaf Salim. The movie is expected to go on floors later this year. The actor also has a long-pending project with Premam filmmaker Alphonse Puthren titled Paattu. The movie, which also has Nayanthara, will also be filmed this year.
