Malayalam actor-director Basil Joseph is all set for the release of his road trip comedy-drama film, Falimy, directed by Nithish Sahadev. Jointly bankrolled by Cheers Entertainment and Sooper Dooper Films, the movie also stars Jagadish, Manju Pillai, Sandeep Pradeep and Meenaraj Palluruthy. Falimy appears to be similar to films like Home, the plot of which delves into the lives of dysfunctional families. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on November 17.
Basil Joseph-starrer Falimy’s plot
The plot of Falimy is set in the backdrop of a family, where Basil plays a young man who is eager to get married, while Jagadish plays his irresponsible father. Basil’s brother advises him to skip arranged marriage and opt for a live-in relationship instead, as it is less ‘time consuming and easier’. The rest of the story revolves around the family travelling from Thiruvananthapuram to Varanasi to find a bride for Basil’s character.
Going by the trailer, the film promises complete family entertainment, with comedy and emotional content. Manju’s performance in the teaser reminds us of her character in Home, who as a mother is always concerned and worried about her family and sons. The chemistry between Manju, Jagadish and Basil in the teaser is something to watch out for.
Falimy’s cast and crew
The comedy drama film’s cast also includes Raina Radhakrishnan and Amith Mohan Rajeshwari. Family is distributed by Icon Cinemas. Scripted by Nitish and Sancho Joseph, Vishnu Vijay of Thallumaala and Kasargold fame has scored music for the movie.
Basil Joseph’s upcoming projects
The actor-director is set to appear alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran in Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil, helmed by Vipin Das, who is known for Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey. Furthermore, Basil will feature in Varshangalkku Shesham, directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, which also stars Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Dhyan Sreenivasan and Nivin Pauly. He is also rumoured to be directing a Bollywwod movie, starring Ranveer Singh.
