The fanbase for the reality show, Bigg Boss seems to be only growing and this is evident by the recent study shared by the social media platform, Twitter. According to the platform, the recent show Bigg Boss 15 recorded a 25 per cent increase in conversations on Twitter. Fans of the show always take to the platform to share their views and opinions and also some interesting updates on the platform. Their tweets for Season 15, which ended recently, have also been all about winner predictions, eviction updates and some in-house heartwarming moments.
Tejasswi Prakash was declared the winner of the show. Speaking about her journey on the show and her Twitter fans, she said in a statement that it's been a beautiful experience to be on the show and take up challenges in the house. She called her Twitter fans, her troops. "While I’m still going through all their Tweets, I know that they have supported me at every single point in my #BiggBoss journey. Twitter is full of love and I’m so glad because the trophy holds value for me due to this love!,” she said. While she was one of the most popular contestants on the show, fans were also excited about other contestants like Umar Riaz, Karan Kundrra, Pratik Sehajpal and Tejasswi Prakash. They too became the talk of the Twitter-town throughout the season. Fans gushed over the couple Karan and Tejasswi, tweeting with #TejRan, making it the most Tweeted hashtag of the season.
Due to the huge fanbase for the contestants and the immense popularity of the show, Twitter had also introduced customised emojis for the season’s finalists, giving fans another reason to celebrate the show.
Fans could activate these avatar emojis by Tweeting with their favourite contestant’s hashtags. The show is not only popular in Hindi, according to Twitter, but also gathers the same amount of love and appreciation for the show’s Tamil and Telugu seasons. As a tribute to this multi-lingual fandom, Twitter introduced a dedicated #BiggBoss emoji in December 2021, which could be activated by tweeting with several hashtags including #BiggBossTwitter, #BBTwitter, #BiggBoss, #BiggBossTelugu, #BiggBossMarathi, #BiggBossTamil, #BiggBossKannada and #BiggBossMalayalam.
Apart from the emojis, Twitter had also introduced features like topics and event pages for people to stay updated and participate in the latest conversations around the show.
Currently, Bigg Boss Ultimate, the first series of the Tamil version of the show is available to stream on Disney+Hotstar.
