One of the most-anticipated films from Bollywood is Jee Le Zaraa. Ever since the film was announced by actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar, fans have been awaiting updates on the film. The film explores female friendships, which is lesser-explored subjects in the Hindi film industry. The highlight of the film is its stellar cast that includes Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the actor said that the film will attempt to present a woman's perspective towards the world. “Whether it’s a drama, comedy or thriller, there should be films made about women. That balance is healthy for the creative world," he said adding that the female point of view is as important as the male point of view. Emotionally, he finds the construct of the two similar to some extent but yet, different. "To see the world through women’s eyes is important in popular culture. The more we embrace it, the healthier it will be for society,” he said.

The film is written by Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti and him. It is expected to go on floors next year and be released in 2023. The film marks the return of Farhan Akhtar as a director after the hit travel and road trip movie Dil Chahta Hai in 2001. Jee Le Zaraa was announced on the film's 20th anniversary. "I am overjoyed at the response to the announcement. It goes to show that there is space for stories about girls going out and doing their thing,” he said. The director-actor is excited to shoot the film in the post-pandemic world. While he said he is glad that things are picking up for the industry again, he said the emotional consequences of the pandemic will be realised much later.

The film also marks the first collaboration of Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
