Director Nelson Venkatesan's sophomore film Farhana has Aishwarya Rajesh playing the titular character

Aishwarya Rajesh's Farhana has just hit screens and has been receiving good reviews at the box office. Aishwarya plays Farhana, who hails from a conservative family and has to take up a job at a call centre to make both ends meet. Though she begins to enjoy the freedom, little does she know that her profession would land her in trouble. The star cast includes Aishwarya Dutta, Jithan Ramesh, Selvaraghavan, Anumol, Kitty to name a few.
Jiiva, who watched Farhana at a special screening, was all praise for the film. He said, "I really liked the film. Aishwarya Rajesh has done extremely well. This is a bold and different attempt by director Nelson. Farhana is a gritty film."
He also thanked the film's director Nelson, for giving his brother Ramesh, a fantastic character. "Ramesh has acted in the film and I am glad that he is a part of it. I should thank Nelson for giving him such a beautiful character. When you write a character like this, you need to think a lot. In fact, all the characters are fantastic . It's a beautiful attempt by Nelson and the film would create a lot of awareness among people. I wish Farhana a huge success," he said."
It has been revealed that SonyLIV has acquired the digital rights of the thriller. The film will drop on OTT in the first week of June.
The film's producers had issued a statement that the film is not against any religion or their sentiments. We have never allowed, nor do we want stories that are against humanity.
Interestingly, Farhana is Aishwarya's fifth project this year after Run Baby Run, The Great Indian Kitchen and Soppana Sundari. Her next project, Theera Kadhal is gearing up for release. She also has in the pipeline Idam Porul Yaeval and Mohandas.
