Farzi was a show fans have been anxiously waiting for, for quite a number of reasons. Coming from the brilliant minds of Raj and DK, the series not only marked Shahid Kapoor’s digital debut, but also saw him share the screen with Vijay Sethupathi himself. Naturally, fans seemed to have binged the show right when it dropped on Amazon Prime Video, and many of them took to Twitter to express just how they found it.

Most netizens seemed to have loved the series, and raved about the writing and performances. While one user appreciated the action and the humour in the show, another went so far as to declare it the Dhoom of the digital world. “Binge watched FARZI! Another massive win for @rajndk. The writing is really amazing! Performances of everyone was too good especially VJS The humour sense of VJS + The humour sense of RAJ&DK is FARZI. The music was good!(sic)” wrote another user.

Even the initial reactions people had, just by watching a few episodes, or even a few minutes, turned out to be really positive. One user spoek of how Raj and DK seemed to be the undisputed best at what they do. Shahid and Vijay’s performance, as well as the latter’s Hindi, was also widely appreciated.

Some fans were also able to find a hidden easter egg in the show, related to Raj and DK’s other popular show The Family Man. Many fans pointed out that a character in Manoj Bajpayee’s series, Mr Chellam, made a short appearance in Farzi as well.

Farzi also inspired netizens to create some hilarious memes as well.

Raashii Khanna, Kay Kay Menon, Bhuvan Arora, Regina Cassandra, and Amol Palekar also star in the series, which was produced under the banner of D2R Films.

Farzi is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
