Ritabhari Chakraborty has always been vocal in challenging social constructs. From mental health awareness to body shaming – the actress takes a positive stand to spread awareness. Now she is all geared up with her upcoming film Fatafati. Directed by Aritra Mukherjee, the actress pairs up with Abit Chatterjee for the first time.

The trailer of the film was dropped recently. Ritabhari is seen sewing clothes. She says, “Fashion does not mean being slim or bulky, but rather decorating oneself beautifully.” Abir plays her husband.

Furthermore, Ritabhari is constantly humiliated while she tries to perform a ramp walk for a fashion show. She also faces problems wearing jeans. Still, she does not give up. Misunderstandings with Abir take place. But Ritabhari does not back out, rather appears as an XL model to walk on the ramp, competing with the size zero models. Swastika Sutta trolls her by saying, “If she walks on the stage, the stage will break down.” Then it is reported that Ritabhari can not walk in the fashion show. Others are startled, but Swastika is relieved.

The trailer gives a straightforward commentary on the perils of body shaming – a first of its kind in Bengali films.

This is Aritra’s third venture with Windows Productions after Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti and Baba Baby O. Meanwhile, this is Ritabhari's second film with Aritra. The film will be released in May. Ritabhari told Hindustan Times Bangla that she had to gain 25 kgs of weight for the film. She did it according to a nutritionist's advice, and then gradually reduced weight.
