Feluda film Nayan Rahashya to release in May?

The general election is just around the corner and it has been reported that the release of a number of a Bengali film got postponed due to the poll schedule. However, some directors do not want to compromise on the release date. Sources say that the brand new Feluda film Nayan Rahasya, directed by Sandip Ray, will be released during the summer vacation in May. 

However, the makers of the film did not officially announce anything about the film. Two years back, Sandip Ray’s Feluda film Hatyapuri was released during the Christmas holidays. It was initially heard that Nayan Rahasya would be released on Christmas Day of 2023. But the makers did not want to bring Feluda into the crowd of other big releases. On Christmas 2023, Mithun Chakraborty's Kabuliwala and Dev's Pradhan were released. 

The directors and producers wanted to bring Feluda in a free slot. Another opinion is that Feluda films always attract the audience. The film could not be released last December since the post-production work could not be completed, a source said. However, there will be a tough competition at the box office in May. The film Amar Boss, directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, will be released at the end of May. On the other hand, Srijit Mukherji’s tribute film to Mrinal Sen, Padatik, will also be released during this period. A section of the hall owners are hopeful about the business owing to those two big releases. 

Sandip shot the film last August. Indraneil Sengupta reprises his role as Feluda after Hatyapuri. Topshe is played by Ayush Das and Jatayu is played by Abhijit Guha. The unit did the outdoors in Chennai. However, Sandip Ray fell ill and the team came back to Kolkata. It is now heard that the film can be released on May 10.
