Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, is set to hit the big screen on January 25.
While Merry Christmas opened the year for Hindi cinema on a decent note, the mass commercial cinema is all set to stamp its first entry coming week with the release of Fighter that stars Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in the leading roles, marking their first-ever collaboration. The movie is riding on massive anticipation, and the trailer with some catchy dialogues that released recently had set the ball rolling for the movie that is now in the advance booking stage. It’s been a couple of days since the advance booking of the movie opened in India, and it looks like the movie is faring decently.
As per the last reading, Fighter, that releases on the big screen on January 25, has sold around 24,000 tickets at the top three theatre chains in India. These include PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis. The bookings are showing an upward trend as the numbers were in the 22,000 range yesterday. However, it is not as crazy as some of the recent big releases but is still very decent for a movie of this scale. Considering it’s a Sunday today, it might show rapid growth in the booking.
The estimates say that the advance booking will cross the 25,000 mark by this evening and may sell more tickets by end of day today. It is also important to note that Fighter is set to release on a non-holiday, and that will make the first day look just decent. The real game begins on day two, which is January 26, Republic Day, and a nationwide holiday. The movie has the privilege of a very good weekend as the next two days are Saturday and Sunday.
Starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in the lead, Fighter also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, and Sanjeeda Shaikh. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand, who last collaborated with Hrithik on War, which was a hit and with Deepika on Pathaan, which turned out to be a blockbuster and marked Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback to the big screen after 5 years. Fighter is shaped against a backdrop of the Indian Air Force and shows the main cast as the members of a special team.
The movie, as per last updated information, is 2 hours 46 minutes (166 minutes) long and has been given a U/A certificate by the Central Board Of Film Certification. The movie has a lot of anticipation attached to it, and the songs that have been released so far have created a good buzz.
