Fighter star Akshay Oberoi’s first look as Basheer Khan out; here's everything you should know about him

We are almost at the end of 2023 and Shah Rukh Khan is set to help us bid an entertaining year goodbye with his film Dunki. Whereas Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor are waiting on the other end to welcome 2024 with their adrenaline-pumping drama Fighter, which is set to hit screens a day before Republic Day. The movie has created a massive buzz and the makers are ensuring that it doesn’t fade away by sharing new promotional material every few days. Today, we finally get a look at Akshay Oberoi’s character in the film and it is top-notch, just like everyone else's in Fighter. 

For the uninitiated, Fighter, directed by Pathaan fame Siddharth Anand, stars Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor, alongside Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi in important roles. The movie, set against the backdrop of the Indian Air Force, is made on a large scale. Akshay plays Squadron Leader Basheer Khan in the ensemble drama and the makers chose today to share his first look from the film. Akshay is seen dressed in an air force uniform, his head high, and with a ‘don’t mess with me’ expression. The aviator shades and his moustache add intrigue to his look. 

Akshay, Hrithik, and others from the team also shared his first look. The caption for the posts read, “Squadron Leader Basheer Khan. Call Sign: Bash. Designation: Weapon System Operator. Unit: Air Dragons. Fighter Forever 🇮🇳.” Netizens like Akshay's first appearance, and they are all praising it. The anticipation for Fighter has now skyrocketed, and the month-long wait is unbearable for fans.

It was earlier rumoured that Akshay has a pivotal role to play in Fighter. It was also said that his participation would trigger a very important part of the story. Even the actor, according to Film Companion, opened up about his character in the film and called the genre extremely demanding.
