Veteran filmmaker K Raghavendra Rao, who enjoys the rare distinction of directing over 100 films in his career across multiple languages with a terrific success rate, is all set to debut as an actor at 79. Interestingly, he'll be seen in front of the camera for a full-fledged role for the sequel of his hit film Pelli Sandadi. The film had starred Srikanth, Deepti Bhatnagar and Ravali in lead roles. The sequel, titled Pelli SandaD, stars Srikanth's son Roshann, Sree Leela, Rajendra Prasad, Rao Ramesh in lead roles.
Pelli SandaD is a family entertainer directed by Gowri Ronanki, supervised by K Raghavendra Rao himself. Raghavendra Rao plays a role titled Vasishta in the film. The filmmaker looks at ease while donning the greasepaint for the first, sporting a sky blue-coloured coat with a formal brown-coloured pant. A special promo announcing his acting debut was released by his former associate and acclaimed director SS Rajamouli on Friday. "After directing over 100 films, our Mounamuni comes in front of the camera... Here's the first look of @Ragavendraraoba garu as an actor, with #PelliSandaD," he tweeted.

The promo has Raghavendra Rao playing a game of basketball with a bunch of teenagers and hitting the target within the first attempt. Apart from sharing screen space with the lead actor Roshann, the veteran director will be seen in a few comedy sequences along with Rajendra Prasad, Srinivas Reddy. Pelli SandaD has music by MM Keeravani and has already completed filming recently. The film is currently undergoing its post-production. Produced by Madhavi Kovelamudi, Shobhu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under Arka Media Works and RK Film Associates, Pelli SandaD is expected to hit theatres shortly.
