One of the two events to be organised later this week will witness the felicitation of filmmakers across languages

An event is being hosted in memory of legendary filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao to felicitate promising filmmakers across several languages in the country. This year, commemorating the 75th birth anniversary of the thespian, the event will honour filmmakers from 16 languages, Tativaka Ramesh Naidu, Chairman of Dasari Cultural Foundation confirmed. The Dasari Narayana Rao memorial event will be organised on May 4 on the filmmaker's birth anniversary in Hyderabad.
Several performances, cultural events and felicitations will be organised as part of the event, jointly hosted by Telugu Cinema Vedika and Film and Television Promotion Council of Andhra Pradesh. The poster related to the event was unveiled by the event committee members including Ramesh Naidu, Nehru, Chaitanya Janga, Vijay Varma Pakalapati recently.
In addition, another event on the eve of Dasari's birth anniversary, May 3, will witness the felicitation of those associated with all the 24 crafts of filmmaking in the Telugu industry (including the Dasari lifetime achievement award). Many leading film dignitaries, lead actors, technicians, producers including C Kalyan, Thammreddy Bharadwaj, Dhavala Satyam, Damodara Prasad, Roja Ramani, Kasi Viswanath and Tummalapalli Rama Satyanarayana will participate in the event.
Dasari Narayana Rao, in a prolific career spanning over three and a half decades, directed path-breaking films in Telugu cinema including Tata Manavadu, Sivaranjani, Sardar Paparayudu, Manushulantha Okkate, Premabhishekam, to name a few.
