With a blend of fashion and horror, the Mexican drama series is a feast for your eyes. The series begins with thirty-two beauty pageant contestants arriving at the La Encantada estate for their three-month grooming to become the next Miss Mexico. Things take a turn when the girls' past demons mix with the horrors ahead, and their objective shifts from winning to surviving.

Jordan Peele’s directorial debut has earned the title of one of the best films of the last decade. The horror satire film follows the twisted tale of a black man visiting the rich family home of his white girlfriend. Her family appears impeccably progressive at first but he notices that a few things appear to be amiss. And as one would expect the situation takes a turn for the worst.

The black comedy starts on a happy note with Grace, an orphan getting married to Alex who belongs to the wealthy Le Domas family. She is welcomed into the new family with a bizarre ritual, and what ensues is a dangerous game of hide and seek but with a horrifying twist.

1899 (Netflix)

The period mystery drama is helmed by the creators of the famed Sci-Fi show Dark, Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar. Taking place in the late nineteenth century, the series follows the passengers of a grand steamship. Their journey to America is forced to take another route after another ship is discovered drifting in the open sea. What follows is a series of eerie incidents which puts the passengers and the crew on edge.

Based on the Swiss graphic novel Sandcastle by Pierre Oscar Levy, M. Night Shyamalan’s film depicts literal trouble in paradise. A vacation to a tropical island goes wrong after a group of holidaymakers visit a secluded beach. The beach happens to be a ticking time bomb where a whole day is equivalent to a full lifetime.

X (Prime Video)

Misunderstanding can lead to huge catastrophes. Inspired by 1970’s slasher movies, the 2022 film follows a group of individuals going to a remote farmhouse in Texas to shoot an adult film. Their explicit production comes to a halt and leads to a terrifying bloodbath. Wednesday’s Jenna Ortega plays a vital role in the film.
