Hey there! Welcome to another special podcast List hai toh hit hai, this is your host Nikhil with you.

In today’s podcast I would be taking you through my list of films and TV shows that redefined satire on OTT platforms. Today's podcast is an awesome journey into the world of satire.

The film and television industry has always been used as a medium for delivering the socio-political messages of the society. Playwrights such as John Marston, Thomas Middleton, and William Shakespeare used satire as tools to rhetorically provide information on the issues in a society. Film and television have also adopted this approach even though the commercial viability has toned it in some ways. However, there are quite a good number of films and TV shows that have managed to become critical and commercial hits. The following is a list which takes you through some of the best satires available on the streaming platforms.

First up on my list

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan

This 2006 film is written by Sacha Baron Cohen, a master when it comes to making satires, focuses on anti-Semitism, xenophobia, and far-right nationalism, in which he stars as the titular character. The film is a mockumentary about a Kazakh journalist and his team who visit America to create a documentary. Also, a sequel, Borat Subsequent Movie Film, was released in 2020 with Sacha Baron Cohen as Borat.
