Manu and Priya, played by Rakshit Shetty and Rukmini Vasanth, were, undoubtedly, the central universe of director Hemanth M Rao’s Sapta Sagaradaache Ello. But just as impactful was one of the antagonists in the tale – Soma – played by Ramesh Indira, a prisoner with an axe to grind against Rakshit’s Manu.

Actor-filmmaker Ramesh Indira was delightfully menacing in the role, and Hemanth has now revealed that he was not the initial casting choice. On November 13, Hemanth joined an X Space conversation about Shivarajkumar’s upcoming film Bhairathi Ranagal. Rukmini is the heroine of Bhairathi Ranagal, while Hemanth is committed to a film called Bhairavana Kone Paata with the Century Star, which is why he tuned in for a quick chat.

One of the speakers in the Space was actor Madhu Guruswamy, who played one of Ranagal’s key aides Singa in Mufti and will be part of Bhairathi Ranagal also. While exchanging pleasantries with Madhu, Hemanth revealed that he was looking forward to collaborating with the actor on Sapta Sagaradaache Ello and that he had intended to cast him in the role of Soma.

However, Madhu was busy at the time and could not come on board, which is when Hemanth began looking at other options and eventually zeroed in on Ramesh Indira, who, turned out an excellent choice for the character.

Meanwhile, Hemanth’s period action drama with Shivarajkumar, is currently on hold and will likely take off once the actor returns from the US after the surgery and treatment for an ailment he is battling. Bhairavana Kone Paata was supposed to go on floors in December, but will now probably be in February or March of 2025. Hemanth has been tight-lipped about the subject of the film, but has been quoted as saying that it will have elements of a Shakesperean action drama.
