Pawan Kumar and Hombale Films came together a couple of years ago for an exciting project titled Dvitva which had Puneeth Rajkumar headlining it. The film, which was to go on floors sometime in November of 2021, fell through due to the tragic and heartbreaking demise of Puneeth, who was to share the screen with PS 2 actress Trisha Krishnan for the second time in his career.
However, Pawan and Hombale rekindled their collaboration with another super intriguing project titled Dhoomam. With the very popular and talented Fahadh Faasil coming on board as the leading man and the equally-charming Aparna Balamurali joining him in the cause, Dhoomam, a suspenseful thriller, is set to release as a Malayalam original which will be simultaneously dubbed in Kannada, Telugu and Tamil.
The team wrapped up the shoot a couple of months ago and Pawan Kumar informs us that the project is currently in the last leg of post-production. With the theatrical release around the corner, the makers have decided on unveiling the first look of the film on April 17, exactly at 10:45 am.
Although the storyline of Dhoomam remains under wraps, one is aware of the fact that Pawan Kumar came up with the idea many years ago, with the intention to bring it on screen as a film titled C10H14N2. That script could not see the light of day due to various reasons but following a string of changes or updates, it would manage to impress Fahadh Faasil.
For Hombale Films, the film would be an integral part of their ongoing plans to expand beyond the Kannada Film Industry. Their next big project Salaar, starring Prabhas, sees them foray into Telugu cinema with a Tamil film titled Raghu Thatha, starring Keerthi Suresh, already in the making. Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is part of the Salaar cast, is directing a Malayalam film titled Tyson for Hombale.
