About a year ago, actor Sharan was nestled in the Uttarakhand quaintness for an intriguing project. Known for his comedy ventures, Sharan was dabbling with something new at the time and soon enough, it was revealed that he was out making a horror comedy with Karvva and Buckasuraa director Navneeth at the helm. And recently, only about five days ago, the makers of the film announced that their endeavour was titled Choo Mantar, also revealing that the very popular Aditi Prabhudeva was their lead actress.

Earlier today, team Choo Mantar unveiled the first look of the film through a special motion poster. The poster offers a keen glimpse of the world of the film and in the same vein, it also highlights the central cast led by Sharan and Aditi Prabhudeva. The Choo Mantar ensemble also includes Meghana Gaonkar, Prabhu Mundkur, Chikkanna, Rajini Bharadwaj & others. Another striking facet of the motion poster is the uncharacteristic Chandan Shetty background score which boasts an eerie, gothic vibe. Although the storyline of the film remains under wraps, the same motion poster suggests that a spooky mansion is an important element in the scheme of things. The title carries the tagline 'Welcome to the world of Satan'.

In a previous conversation, Sharan had shared that the horror genre is a novel attempt for him as an actor and, in the same vein, added that it would also be unfair to categorize it as an outright horror film. "The film features many subgenres that it would be unwise to simply categorize as "horror". There are many striking elements of that genre, yes, but I won't say it's a scary film of the conventional kind," he said at the time. Sharan also said that he found director Navneeth's vision to be unique and enterprising.

Choo Mantar marks the actor's second collaboration with producer Tarun Shivappa after Victory 2. The main crew of the film includes Anup Kattukaran as the Director of Photography, Venki UDV as the editor, and Shivakumar & Mohan B Kere for art direction.
