The first single Kaalathukkum Nee Venum was released this evening

The much-awaited single from Silambarasan TR's upcoming film Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu was released today. The song, Kaalathukkum Nee Venum has lyrics penned by Thamarai and music by AR Rahman. The song has been sung by Silambarasan TR himself and Rakshita Suresh.
Taking to his social media handle, Simbu said that the song was from his soul. He wrote, "A Song from my Soul ! Vendhu Thaninthadhu Kaadu has Silambarasan TR and Siddhi Idnani in the lead. The supporting cast includes Radikaa Sarathkumar, Siddique, Neeraj Madhav, Aangelina Abraham to name a few. Cinematography is by Siddhartha Nuni and editing is by Anthony. Vendhu Thaninthadhu Kaadu is said to be an action drama and the shoot has been wrapped up completely and the post-production work is on in full swing. This is the fourth collaboration between AR Rahman and Silambarasan after Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.
Silambarasan TR's last release was Maanaadu, which was directed by Venkat Prabhu and saw Simbu sharing the screen space with SJ Suryah, who played the antagonist in it. The film was set in a time loop and the thriller went on to become a hit.
