State of Siege: Temple Attack is based on true events that unfolded in 2002 at Akshardham Temple in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Zee5 has just released the first teaser of State of Siege: Temple Attack. The Zee5 film starring Akshaye Khanna in the lead role as a National Security Guard (NSG) commando will also mark the actor's digital debut. The movie, directed by Ken Ghosh, will be based on the 2002 terror attack at Akshardham Temple in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, where two terrorists were gunned down by NSG Commandos. State of Siege: Temple Attack is all set for release on Zee5 on July 9.

Director Ken Ghosh took to Twitter announcing the release of the teaser for State of Siege: Temple Attack. He tweeted: "Teaser of my film- State of Siege 2 - Temple Attack. Coming soon on @ZEE5India. Hope you like it (sic)."

Akshaye Khanna plays the character of an NSG commando, who is in charge of an operation to eliminate the terrorists at the Akshardham Temple. The newly released teaser gives us a glimpse into how the NSG commandos push forward with the operation to rescue the people stuck inside the temple. The teaser shows us terrorists reaching Gandhinagar via train. From there on, they reach the temple, where they start openly firing at people. These terrorists also keep a large number of pilgrims as hostages. The next shot shows NSG commandos rushing into the temple.

Apart from Akshaye Khanna, the film also stars Vivek Dahiya and Gautam Rode. The makers of the movie said in a statement that State of Siege: Temple Attack is a tribute to the NSG commandos of India, who are ready to risk their lives to protect us. The first part of State of Siege, titled State of Siege: 26/11 was also released on Zee 5. State of Siege: 26/11 revolved around the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
