Judd's directorial debut, The 40-year-old Virgin, is largely dubbed an instant classic. He also wrote the film with lead actor Steve Carell, serving as the co-writer. After working on Steve's 2004 film Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy as a producer, Judd had the idea to cast the actor as the lead of a comedy film. The plot is based on a sketch that Steve created in his improv comedy days. Catherine Keener, Paul Rudd, Seth Rogan, and Elizabeth Banks also star in this film.

Funny People (Apple TV Plus, Google Play Movies, YouTube)

Another film showcasing Judd's nuanced knowledge of the comedy world is Funny People, a satirical dramedy film starring Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, and Leslie Mann. In this 2009 movie, a famous comedian gets diagnosed with a terminal disease, so he works to make amends in his life before his passing. It is hilarious and heart-warming to watch, ideal to stream on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling (Disney+ Hotstar)

In addition to his extensive experience directing comedy films, Judd also took a stab at directing a documentary about the life of comedian Garry Shandling. The comedian was Judd's mentor and friend; they met when Judd was a teenager. The documentary features many renowned comedians, including Jim Carrey, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Sarah Silverman, and the late Bob Saget.

Girls (Disney+ Hotstar)

Judd executive produced this hit comedy-drama show written by and starring Lena Dunham. The series chronicles the lives of four young women in New York City and is inspired by Lena's personal life. With six seasons available to stream online, Girls is a show that will have you hooked from the very first episode. Judd's association with the show demonstrates his passion for comedy and storytelling.

Pineapple Express (SonyLIV, Apple TV Plus)

Judd co-wrote the 2008 comedy Pineapple Express with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. The film features former best friends Seth and James Franco. Judd's also credited as one of the producers of the film. Pineapple Express follows the journey of a stoner who gets himself and his drug dealer embroiled in a brutal murder. The film is filled with rib-tickling moments galore and boasts some power-packed action sequences to keep you glued to your seat.
