Based on one of the most important horror novels ever written, Bram Stoker’s Dracula features Gary Oldman as the titular vampire who is a very modernised version of the Roman myth. Though Oldman’s characterisation has been met with some flak, he brings a whole new element of Dracula yearning for love and ready to cross all limits to reach it.

Penny Dreadful (Season 3 - 2016) - Amazon Prime Video

The third season of Penny Dreadful follows Ethan, Sir Malcom and Frankenstien returning as the lead trio. In this season, they battle Dracula, played by Christian Camargo, who is threatening to destroy London. This season of the show is claimed to be the most violent, with plenty of plot twists that add to Dracula’s skill of being a clever killer.

Hotel Transylvania (2012) - Netflix

A lighter takes on Dracula, Hotel Transylvania is an animated movie where a human falls in love with Dracula’s teenage daughter. The film follows Dracula’s attempt to keep Jonathon away from his daughter and has evolved into a franchise over the years, owing to its success.

Dracula (2020) - Netflix

One of the newest additions to the list of content based on Dracula, this Netflix show follows Dracula’s origins in Eastern Europe, including his battles with Van Helsing’s descendants. The portrayal of Dracula by Claes Bang brings an element of vulnerability to the vicious vampire.

The Originals (2013) - Netflix

Four seasons of this series are enough to convince you that Dracula, no matter how many times he is resurrected on a screen, will always add a punch to a series. A spin off of The Vampire Diaries, the show is about a family of vampires who are more evil than good.
