We can all agree that the next best thing to playing video games is watching TV shows based on them. Hollywood has been producing shows of this genre for as long as Mario has been trying to rescue the Princess. Today, we are witnessing a new wave of TV adaptations, and the latest in line is Halo. With the first episode already streaming on Voot, you can follow Master Chief as he leads his team in the fight against the Covenant. And, if you love Halo, these TV shows based on video games are a must-watch.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness (Netflix)

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is an American Japanese horror-action CGI original net animation miniseries based on the Resident Evil franchise. It reunites Leon and Claire (voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa and Yūko Kaida, respectively), the protagonists from the Resident Evil 2 video game, as they fight against zombies after a viral attack on the White House.

The Witcher (Netflix)

The Witcher is a Polish-American fantasy drama television series starring Hollywood hunk Henry Cavill in the lead role. It centres around Geralt of Rivia (Cavill), a magically-enhanced and solitary monster hunter who has embarked on a journey to find his destiny. The Witcher was originally a novel, but its popularity reached new heights when it was adapted as a video game.

Defiance (MX Player)

Defiance is an American science fiction drama show inspired by the video game of the same name. It is set in a post-apocalyptic future where aliens and humans are forced to live together. It follows the story of Joshua Nolan (Grant Bowler) and his adopted Votan daughter Irisa Nyira (Stephanie Leonidas), as they try to uncover some unsettling truths.

Castlevania (Netflix)

Inspired by the Japanese video game series, Castlevania is an American adult animated dark fantasy television series. The show revolves around the Belmont clan (led by Richard Armitage) as they try to save the nation of Wallachia from the wrath of Vlad Dracula Tepe (Graham McTavish) and his army of demons. Castlevania deserves a place on your watchlist if you love animated horror shows!

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video)

If you grew up in the 90s, we are sure you’ve played Pac-Man as a kid. While it was first introduced as an arcade game, Pac-Man was later developed into different video games. Although Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures is billed as a series for children, we are sure streaming it will take you on a nostalgic trip. You can follow the adventures of Pac and his crew as they try to save the Pac-World on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

As you enjoy these shows, make sure to catch the new episodes of Halo, streaming every Thursday on Voot.
