Preeti Jhangiani debuted in the early 2000s and has since been known for her beauty and innocent charm. So much so that she got typecast and was offered roles similar to Mohabbatein.

Well, times certainly are changing for the actor after the success of her OTT debut, Kafas. So much so that the actress will be seen playing a corrupt politician in her next project.

In Kafas, Preeti plays Tanya Bajaj, who is the wife of a superstar named Vikram Bajaj, who is a sexual predator. The cunningness and quirk of her character have been appreciated by audiences and critics alike.

Telling OTTplay about her next project, Preeti said, "I am starring in a film called Mahapaur, which is a political drama. My character in the film is unlike anything I have played before. I play a corrupt mayor who is drunk on her political power. I am a badass in the films. I have never played such a grey character before, simply because nobody has offered me such a role. The story of the film is very exciting. It is about climate change and how politics plays a big part in it."

Kafas is the Indian adaptation of the British show Dark Money by Levi David Addai, which was released in 2019. The Hindi series is written by Karan Sharma and directed by Sahil Sangha.

The story of Kafas revolves around a child actor named Sunny Vashist who becomes the victim of sexual abuse on the set of a film. While child actor Mikail Gandhi plays Sunny, Sharman Joshi plays his father, and Mona Singh plays his mother.

Kafas also stars Zarina Wahab, Jyoti Gauba, and Geetanjali Mishra, and is available to stream on SonyLIV.
