Debutant director Naveen Dwarakanath’s For Regn was one of two releases that leading man Pruthvi Ambaar had on the same day

On February, Pruthvi Ambaar had a major dilemma – he had not one, but two releases in theatres and he had to do justice to both as far as promotions go. One was For Regn and the other Matsyagandha. For Regn, by debutant director Naveen Dwarakanath, did not have great reviews when it opened, but the team claimed that it did well in theatres and even had a success meet. The film’s been able to strike an OTT deal and has begun streaming now. It is available on Amazon Prime Video as of April 19.
For Regn was Pruthvi’s first film with Milana Nagaraj. The duo played Ashu and Anvi, a couple who got married without telling either set of parents, after a brief courtship. When the folks get wind of their marital status, they insist that a traditional ceremony be held for the benefit of prying relatives. There are small issues owing to the cultural differences of both the families, but while those were hurdles the duo could overcome, they hit breaking point, when Ashu begins to distance himself from Anvi and does not explain his reason for doing so.
For Regn will likely be Milana’s last release for a while, considering that the actress is now expecting her first child with husband and actor Darling Krishna. Pruthvi, meanwhile, has a bunch of films lined up, most of which are projects he took up earlier. He has not announced any new signing in a while. The OTT release of For Regn was not announced by the streamer or the team. For Regn joined Yuva Rajkumar’s Yuva, although the latter is on the store for rental only.
This week’s expected films on OTT were Avatara Purusha 2 and Blink, both of which will also land on Prime Video, but there’s been no update about when they will actually drop.
