Inspired from a book series of the same name by Isaac Asimov, Foundation is a story beyond the fabric of space and time. One of the most critically acclaimed science fiction, it will narrate the tale of humankind living under Galactic Empire and its imminent destruction, leading to a race-against time by mathematician Hari Seldon and his group of followers, who aim to preserve and rebuild human knowledge, before the darkness strikes.

With talented actors at the helm of the project, the cast will include Jarid Harris as Hari Seldon, Lee Pace as Brother Day, Lou Llobell as Gaal Dornick, Laura Birn as Demerzel, Cassian Bilton as Brother Dawn, Terrence Mann as Brother Dusk, Daniel MacPherson as Hugo, T'Nia Miller as Halima and Pravessh Rana as Roan. It also has a special surprise for Indians, as it features actor Kubbra Sait as Phara.

In the trailer, we see a visibly distressed Hari Seldon proposing the creation of titular Foundation to preserve the entire knowledge of mankind during a new dark age, as his theory ‘Psychohistory’ reveals that the Galactic empire is bound to fail. His outrageous claim leads to him getting outcast, by the ruling Cleons (emperor clones) of the civilization Brother Day, who sees him as a threat to their reign. Gathering a group of scientists and followers, Seldon sets out to achieve his goal. From drama to science, from eye-catching graphics to visually appealing scenes, from a solid narrative to stellar cast – the series seems to offer all.

Produced by David S. Goyer, it is an on-screen adaptation of the popular books, and was first announced back in 2018, but got delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 10-episode long Season 1 has been finally scheduled to release on September 24, on Apple TV+.
