Devika Bhagat is a well-known screenwriter who has worked in a variety of mediums, including film, television, and digital platforms. She's written films including Manorma, Six Feet Under, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and Bachna Ae Haseeno, as well as scripted television dramas like Mahi Way, and now she's penning series like Unpaused and Four More Shots Please! She is now enjoying critical acclaim for her most recent film, Amazon Prime Video's anthology Modern Love: Mumbai, in which she is credited with writing Cutting Chai, directed by Nupur Asthana. She also worked on the show as a consultant writer.
During a panel discussion on Khul Ke, Devika shared an insight into her two next series: Shehar Lakhot, which is now in production; and Four More Shots Please! Season 3, will premiere in the second half of the year.
She said that Shehar Lakhot's portrayal of women and Season 3 of Four More Shots Please!'s portrayal of women will be extremely different. The type of woman you're writing about, their economic standing, social status, and where they live, among other factors, all influence how they're described. Shehar Lakhot, for example, is a story set in Udaipur. It's a narrative set in a fictional tiny town where women have a far different take on life than the women in Four More Shots Please! Shehar Lakhot's female protagonist does not have the same problems as the women in Four More Shots Please!
Devika explained that if they are writing about affluent women in Four More Shots Please!, they are writing about privileged women because they have access to things that 90 percent of women in this country don't.
She continued, saying that the audience should expect a lot of emotions from Season 3 of Four More Shots Please! Even the seasons follow a pattern.
Devika Bhagat and Navdeep Singh developed the Indian television series Shehar Lakhot. It's the story of a guy who reluctantly returns to his hometown, where he not only faces his old issues but also gets sucked into an even bigger muck of deception, where he must now establish his innocence. Priyanshu Painyuli, Shruthy Menon, Chandana Roy Sanyal, and Kubbra Sait star in the series.
