Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis cast Adam Driver, Nathalie Emmanuel

Francis Ford Coppola is one of the most legendary directors that is working today. The filmmaker will return after ten years with a mega project titled Megalopolis. The movie has now reportedly cast Adam Drive and Nathalie Emmanuel among others.

According to a report by Deadline, the movie will star Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones and Fast X), Jon Voight and Laurence Fishburne as its main cast.

“The fate of Rome haunts a modern world unable to solve its own social problems in this epic story of political ambition, genius, and conflicted love.” read the movie’s official logline.

The legendary director is producing the project himself, which reportedly will be made in a budget of just under $100 million. The director has also sold portions of his wine empire to fund for the film, which he hopes to be something he will leave behind as an expression of the potential humankind has.

The director had previously backed the iconic Apocalypse Now starring Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, and Martin Sheen because at the time, nobody wanted to take on the risk of taking up the movie. The 1979 movie is now considered a cinematic marvel and had minted a lot of money.

Fishburne began his acting career in Coppola’s Apocalypse Now back in 1979, at the age of 14.

The filmmaker, who has helmed movies such as The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, Rumble Fish and The Rainmaker, last directed Twixt in 2011. The director has won the Academy Award five times in his illustrious career.

Adam Driver was last seen in back-to-back Ridley Scott features, The Last Duel and House of Gucci. He is also working on White Noise directed by Noah Baumbach.
