Today is a special day for crores of Telugu speaking populace across the globe - the biggest ever change maker in the Telugu land, film star, politician N T Rama Rao would’ve turned 100 had he been amongst us today. Words can’t do justice to describe the impact he has created in his lifetime, both as a film star and a three-time CM.

Even though he’s not amongst us, it’s imperative we celebrate the vast legacy he’s left behind and one that’ll remain unmatched. Thousands of his fans are gathering in huge numbers to celebrate NTR’s 100th birth anniversary today across the Telugu states, from Nimmakuru to Guntur to Vijayawada and Hyderabad and in the US too.

Telugu film celebrities including the star’s son Nandamuri Balakrishna, grandsons Nandamuri Kalyanam, Jr NTR and other names like Chiranjeevi, Ram Pothineni, Vishnu Manchu, directors Bobby, Sampath Nandi, and writer Gopichand conveyed their adoration for NTR through their social media posts. Here’s what they said.

“It’s hard to forget the imprint you’ve left behind among Telugu people as a film star and a leader all these years. Be it hisotricals, mythologicals or social films, you’ve a permanent place in our hearts. You’re an acting encyclopaedia yourself. Even as a politician and becoming a CM within 9 months of establishing TDP, you became a voice of the common man and worked towards their upliftment. NTR is a hero, a God, a father, a guru to me always,” Balakrishna said.

Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Kalyanaram claimed that NTR will always be a pride of the Telugus and an embodiment of their self respect. Jr NTR in a poignant note asked his grandfather to return if possible and make the Telugu land great again. While Ram Pothineni called him a man sent by God, Vishnu Manchu told there can be anyone like NTR ever again.

Earlier in the day, several members of the Nandamuri family paid their respects to NTR at the NTR Ghat in Hyderabad.
