Puri Jagannadh is one of the legendary directors in Telugu cinema and has launched the careers of many. But sadly, his last few films have ended as disasters at the box office. Also, as Puri produced these films under his home banner, he incurred heavy losses as a producer.
Puri Jagannadh to wrap up his next in quick time
By now, it is a known fact that Puri has teamed up with star hero Vijay Sethupathi for his next. The film has been locked, and we at OTTplay have come to know all the shoot updates of this social drama.
Firstly, the shooting of this yet-to-be-titled film will kick off in June 2025. A special colony set will be erected for the same, and a major chunk of the shoot will take place there. The film is also planned to be wrapped up in a record 55 days.
A source close to Puri Jagannadh has revealed to us that the DSP, Laabam, and Petta actor has allotted only 60 days for the project and has asked Puri to complete the film within that time frame.
Tabu plays the female lead in this film and has a powerful, unique role. This is the first time she is teaming up with Vijay Sethupathi, and the Virasat and Coolie No. 1 actress says she is super excited to begin shooting. She has always been a fan of the Loafer and Badri director.

Puri is known for making mass entertainers like Itlu Sravani Subramanyam, but with this Vijay Sethupathi film, he is venturing out of his comfort zone and is thrilled about the challenge. This time, he has readied a solid subject and will make a strong comeback, says one of his close aides.
Puri himself is producing the film under his Puri Connects banner, along with Charmee, who is overseeing all the shooting formalities. Several well-known Hindi and Tamil actors will also feature in this project, and Puri has already started the casting process.
