From Dandadan season 2 to Gachiakuta, summer anime to look forward to in 2025

After Solo Leveling, Re:Zero, Dr. Stone, Blue Box and One Piece returning and ruling over the anime world in the first half of 2025, it is time for more iconic anime to be back. Among them are Dandadan season 2 and Gachiakuta, both of which are much awaited, and both release just a few days apart.

Dandadan season 2

Now that Momo has awakened her powers as a ghost medium (she is born into a family that does so for generations), she is out to save her childhood friend Jiji who is haunted by ghosts. She is not alone, for her classmate Okarun, an occult fanatic, now has the power of the curse. Things are about to get really bizarre, but the ride is expected to be thrilling in each moment.

The Summer Hikaru Died

Yoshiki notices how his close friend Hikaru changed after becoming severely ill. Although he does see Hikaru, he does not feel that his friend is the same person he met. Of course, Hikaru is possessed by a ghost in the rural village of Japan. The series explores if there is a way out to save Hikaru.

To Be Hero X Coup 2

The dark horse from Chinese anime (donghua), To Be Hero X came as a big surprise in 2025. In this world, manifestation works wonders. If someone believes they can fly, they do fly. There is, in fact, competition to be the ultimate hero. That hero is Hero X, and there's a huge line to get to that spot with just one being declared the ultimate winner.

Gachiakuta

Kaiju No 8 season 2

Kafka and Mina pledge to destroy parasites named Kaijus when they destroy the town the friends grew up. Things become complicated when Kafka turns a kaiju himself. He is now Kaiju No 8 and works undercover to destroy other kaijus. Kafka has destroyed Kaiju No 9 but ended up becoming a more powerful Kaiju in the process. More challenges ahead for Kafka in season 2.
