From Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan to Shabana Azmi, Karan Johar introduces Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's families in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani

After introducing Rocky and Rani, Karan Johar has now unveiled the rest of the cast of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film, featuring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi as the senior members of their families. Ranveer's family is the Randhawas, while Alia's is the Chatterjees.

Dharmendra and Jaya belong to Ranveer's family as his grandparents, whereas Shabana is likely to be seen as Alia's grandmother. The other cast members include Tota Roy Choudhury and Churni Ganguly as Alia's onscreen parents. While Namit Das might play her brother.

Meanwhile, Aamir Basir and Kshitee Jog are Ranveer's parents, and Anjali Anand is his sister.

While sharing the post, Karan captioned it as "Meet the Randhawas and the Chatterjees—the two families of this 'kahaani'! The power of family will decide the fate of love. Come, be a part of it all and more with #RockyAurRaniKiiPremKahaani, in cinemas July 28, 2023."

KJo has returned to directing a full-fledged film after seven years with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film also marks his reunion with Alia Bhatt after a decade and Jaya Bachchan after two decades. On the other hand, Karan has directed Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Ranveer Singh for the first time.

With this film, Ranveer and Alia are reuniting on the big screen after four long years. They were romantically paired opposite each other for the first time in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy (2019).

Earlier, while talking about directing Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Karan told PTI that his filmmaking had evolved. During the pandemic, he needed to make a movie that made him feel 25 again. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was the only movie he could think of or make at 25 because it was like a compilation of all his childhood flicks. The film honours Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra, and Sooraj Barjatya.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is slated to release on July 28, 2023.
