That '70s Show’s Laura Prepon is set to direct That '90s Show

Netflix just released the trailer for the upcoming That ‘70s Show spinoff, That ‘90s Show. It was also revealed that Laura Prepon who portrayed Donna in That ‘70s Show won’t just have a guest role but will also serve as the director for the show. She shared this news via her Instagram and it will be available for streaming from January 19.

Kantara producer Hombale Films is set to invest Rs. 3000 crores in the entertainment industry for the next five years

After the success of the K.G.F franchise and Kantara, the production house Hombale Films has made plans to invest a huge amount in the Indian entertainment industry for the next five years. Vijay Kiragandur, the founder of Hombale Films revealed they intend to invest Rs 3,000 crore and that they are committed to releasing five to six movies including one event movie. He also added that the films will be released in all the south-Indian languages.

Avatar: The Way of Water has already passed $600 Million

James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water, was predicted to make a big splash at the box office and it appears the film is well on course to achieve its targets. As of January 21, the long-awaited sequel has earned $609.7 million at the worldwide box office, and it holds the record for the second-biggest Wednesday opening of the year with a total of $14.3 million just behind Top Gun: Maverick with $14.8 million. It is expected that there will be a staggering growth in box office numbers during the holiday season.

Gal Gadot is returning to the Fast and Furious franchise

Despite making a massive huge impact as Wonder Woman in DC films, Gal Gadot’s future with the franchise remains unknown. However, she is set to make a comeback to the Fast & Furious films, the franchise that launched her Hollywood career. New reports claim she will be part of Fast X, the next instalment of the Fast and the Furious saga along with fellow DCU star, Jason Momoa who joins the cast as the new villain. The film is set to hit theatres in May 2023.

Akshay Kumar wears the shoes of an ASI archaeologist trying to investigate the nature of the mythical India-Sri Lanka underwater bridge known as Ram Setu. The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Satya Dev in prominent roles. The film can be described as a desi take on Indiana Jones.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (Netflix)

Daniel Craig reprises his role as master detective Benoit Blanc in the new Knives Out sequel. Blanc takes a trip to Greece to inspect the world of a tech billionaire, Miles Bron and his circle of elite and high-profile friends. The film stars renowned actors such as Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista among others. According to The Guardian,” Glass Onion is never anything less than entertaining, with its succession of A-lister and A-plus-lister cameos popping up all over the place.``

Jack Ryan Season 3 (Prime Video)

John Krasinski is back as Jack Ryan for the third season of the political action thriller TV series. Based on the characters created by Tom Clancy, the series follows Jack Ryan, a former Marine and Afghanistan veteran. The third season sees Jack as a rogue agent fleeing from the CIA while pursuing Russians in an attempt to avert the next world war. The series also stars Wendell Pierce, Abbie Cornish and Ali Suliman.

Aken Babu Season 6 (Hoichoi)

Anirban Chakrabarti, the Tollywood breakout star is back as the hilarious but dynamic detective, Eken Babu. Based on the fictional character of Eken babu by Sujan Dasgupta, the series follows an ordinary Bengali man with an immense knowledge of criminology who makes his living by solving cases. The Bengali series also stars Rajatava Dutta, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, and Somak Ghosh in pivotal roles.

Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey (Disney+ Hotstar)

The Malayalam film follows a newly married woman who intends to crack the public commission exam after her husband makes an unsavory joke about her caliber. She strives to become an inspiration to married women everywhere who wish to continue their education. The film stars Darshana Rajendran along with Minnal Murali director Basil Joseph in lead roles.

Emily in Paris S3 (Netflix)

Lily Collins is back as the lively Emily who joins her dream company in France to provide an American perspective to Savoir, a marketing firm. The third season sees Emily getting cosy with Chef Gabriel and still fumbling with her decision to work in Chicago or Paris. According to Rolling Stone, “Part of what made the last two seasons of Emily in Paris compelling was the show’s willingness to adopt off-beat humour and larger-than-life fashions.”

Ini Utharam (Zee5)

Directed by Sudeesh Ramachandran, the Malayalam thriller follows a girl who surrenders herself at the police station after confessing to a murder. The police suspect more foul play regarding the whole affair and decide to look into it, but the situation soon takes a nasty turn. The film stars Aparna Balamurali, Harish Uthaman, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Chandhunadh, and Siddique in prominent roles.
