Legendary actor, former AP CM NTR’s grandson, actor Taraka Ratna breathed his last at a private hospital in Bengaluru on Saturday. He was 39 and is survived by his wife Alekya Reddy and daughter Nishka. The son of Nandamuri Mohana Krishna, Taraka Ratna, who made his acting debut with Okato Number Kurradu, had a brief acting career in which he was seen across a wide variety of roles.

The series of deaths in the Telugu film industry has left many in shock. From Ramesh Babu to superstar Krishna to Krishnam Raju, actress Jamuna and popular filmmaker K Viswanath, many noted celebrities have left for the heavens in the recent months. Several names from the industry took to social media to mourn the tragic demise of the actor at a young age.

Actors Ravi Teja, Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Balakrishna, Ali, Allu Arjun, Sushanth, Adivi Sesh, Allari Naresh, Ali, Manchu Lakshmi, Venkatesh, Sharwanand, Rahul Vijay, Ananya Nagalla, Aadi Saikumar, composer Anup Rubens, writer Vakkantham Vamsi and several leading production houses in Telugu cinema expressed their condolences to the family of Taraka Ratna.

Taraka Ratna, who collapsed during a TDP rally in January, was immediately shifted to Narayana Hrudayalaya hospital in Bangalore for enhanced treatment. Despite being treated at Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences, his condition worsened with time, after which he had slipped into a coma. His final rites will be performed at Mahaprasthanam, Jubilee Hills on Monday, February 20.

The actor’s body was shifted to Hyderabad earlier this morning and will be kept at his residence in Mokila (Ranga Reddy district). The body will kept at the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce tomorrow morning after which the funeral rites will be performed in the evening. Taraka Ratna was last seen in the web show 9 Hours, streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
