Meghana Raj Sarja, the daughter of actors Sunder Raj and Pramila Joshai, made her film debut in 2009, with a Telugu film called Gayatri. The very next year, she set foot in Kannada cinema too, with Punda, but then her career picked up in Malayalam and Tamil films that it took 3 years for her to comeback to Sandalwood. Her return was with Raja Huli, the remake of the Tamil hit Sundarapandian and while she did a few Malayalam movies, thereafter, her focus then shifted completely to Kannada cinema.
Meghana was married to actor Chiranjeevi Sarja, who tragically passed away during the pandemic, following a massive cardiac arrest. Pregnant with their child at the time of Chiranjeevi’s passing, Meghana took a brief break from cinema and returned with 2023’s Tatsama Tatbhava
Meghana Raj’s first film, Punda, paired her with Loose Mada Yogi. The action drama, directed by Sivashangkar Mohan, was the Kannada remake of the Tamil film Polladhavan, which had Ramya and Dhanush in the lead.
