From RRR to Bheemla Nayak, here are all the Telugu releases in theatres, on OTTs this weekend

While RRR is the only major film hogging the limelight at the theatres across the country this weekend, there's enough action happening on streaming platforms in Telugu, from world digital premieres to reality shows and more. We take you through all the action at the theatres and OTTs you shouldn't miss out on.

RRR

The historical fictional drama, helmed by SS Rajamouli, needs little introduction. A fictional take on the lives of two legendary Telugu warriors in the pre-independence era, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitaramaraju, RRR a.k.a Roudram Ranam Rudhiram stars Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Samuthirakani, Rajeev Kanakala, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Rahul Ramakrishna and others in lead roles. While Ram Charan is cast in the role of a British police officer (Alluri), Jr NTR steps into the shoes of an aggressive tribal leader (Bheem). The story, largely set in Delhi, is based on their friendship in the 1920s. MM Keeravaani has scored the music for the same.

Valimai

A much-feared, terrifying criminal is the mastermind behind a handful of notorious activities in Chennai, making use of a sophisticated network manipulating many jobless youngsters. Desperate to take matters under their control, the police department hands over this case to ACP Arjun Kumar, who is immensely attached to his family. Soon enough, he realises the criminal isn't an easy nemesis to handle and nabbing may turn out to be tougher than expected. Is Arjun Kumar capable enough to halt the criminal's juggernaut? Stars Ajith Kumar, Huma Qureshi, Kartikeya Gummakonda in the lead. Directed by H Vinoth, the film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Telugu Indian Idol - Episodes 9, 10

The popular reality show Indian Idol has come to the Telugu land this year on the Telugu OTT platform aha. Telugu Indian Idol is hosted by Sreerama Chandra and has Nithya Menen, S Thaman, Karthik as its judges. Of the applicants/registrations numbering in lakhs, the judges have managed to select the best 12 singers on the show. It was the theatre round last week when the top 12 contestants showcased their singing prowess without any elimination. Catch the 9th and 10th episodes of the reality show to watch engaging performances by budding singers and to know if they can impress the judges.

Bheemla Nayak

Daniel Shekar a.k.a Danny, the spoilt son of an influential politician, is arrested on the Andhra Pradesh-Telangana border for illegal possession of liquor. When Danny resists the arrest, the local SI Bheemla Nayak takes charge of the situation and puts him in his place. A humiliated, bitter Danny, who's put behind bars, is desperate to settle scores and uses wicked tactics to get Nayak suspended. Owing to situations spiralling beyond their control, Nayak and Danny's personal battle gets uglier, messier with time. Stars Pawan Kalyan, Rana Daggubati, Nithya Menen in the lead, the actioner has music by S Thaman and is directed by Saagar K Chandra.
