National Award-winning choreographer Shiamak Davar, who is the choreographer for Vishal Bharadwaj's short film Fursat, opens up on why he took up the project, which had him feeling emotional.

Speaking about Fursat and his experience working on the project, Shiamak said, "When I heard the script for the first time, I was intrigued. As a choreographer, working on projects that make you work hard and bring something fresh to the table is always interesting. The essence of the project should connect with the audience. Fursat did that."

The celebrated choreographer also mentioned that it was a wonderful experience working with Vishal. "He is a visionary filmmaker who is blessed with immense knowledge about his art. Ishaan (Khattar, the lead actor) was brilliant. He executed the choreography beautifully," shared Shiamak, who is known for his work in films like Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Taal, Kisna, Bunty Aur Babli, Dhoom 2, I See You, Taare Zameen Par, Yuvvraaj, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, among others.

Ishaan studies dance under Shiamak and has been associated with his institute for a long time. And Shiamak said that watching the grow was emotional for him.

"I have seen Ishaan from a young age, and watching him doing a phenomenal job in this film was an emotional moment for me," said Shiamak.

Fursat is a 30-minute musical tale about a man who is so fixated on influencing the future that he runs the risk of losing what is most important to him in the here and now.

The film is shot on an iPhone 14, with lyrics by Gulzar. The soundtrack is composed by Vishal Bharadwaj. The short film is available to stream on YouTube.
