Politician and mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy’s son, Kireeti Reddy, is being launched as hero with an as-yet-untitled Kannada-Telugu bilingual produced by Sai Korrapati under Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram. The film was officially launched earlier today by Baahubali and RRR maker SS Rajamouli. The film, written and directed by Radha Krishna, will pair Kireeti with Sreeleela and marks the comeback of Genelia Deshmukh.
Speaking at the muhurtha in Bengaluru Genelia, who has been away from cinema for a decade, said, “I am actually from Karnataka; my ancestors hail from here, so I am glad to be back. This is also my comeback film after 10 years. It is an amazing project and I am glad that I get to work with Kireeti. I play Kireeti’s sister in the film and took it up because I thought that the track between the sister and brother was interesting.”
Sreeleela, who fills in as Kireeti’s love interest in the film, said that she was excited about the project given the credentials of the crew, including Devi Sri Prasad’s music, Baahubali DOP Senthil Kumar, Peter Hein for action, among others. “This is a film with a very strong technical team. Kireeti and I have been family friends and we’ve been waiting for this day, his launch, for a while. I have been fortunate to have Rajamouli sir bless my films twice now, first for Pelli SandaD and now this untitled project.”
The film, which is touted to be a family entertainer, also has Crazy Star Ravichandran on the cast. He will play Kireeti’s father in the film. The commencement of the shoot was announced with the launch of a teaser featuring Kireeti.
