Gaalipata 2 on OTT: Zee5 announces streaming date of Ganesh starrer

Golden Star Ganesh’s reunion with Yogaraj Bhat for a sequel to their hit collaboration, Gaalipata, came this year. This time around, Ganesh was joined by Diganth and actor-filmmaker Pawan Kumar, as well as actresses Vaibhavi Shandilya, Samyuktha Menon and Sharmiela Mandre. The film also had veteran actor Anant Nag in a pivotal role, along with Rangayana Raghu and Sudha Belawadi. The film, produced by Ramesh Reddy, released in theatres on August 12 and is inching closer to the 50-day at the box office. Gaalipata 2 is the first of Ramesh’s productions so far to have achieved success at the box office.

It was also sold for a good price to Zee Network for the satellite and digital rights. When we’d spoken to Ramesh after the film came out, he had said that Gaalipata 2 would not be on OTT before 50 days of theatrical release. In the last few days, social media has been abuzz with questions about when the film could be expected to start streaming. Zee5 Kannada just took to social media to announce that the film would be available to stream starting October 5. Gaalipata 2 will get its world digital premiere this Dasara. 

Gaalipata 2 is Ganesh’s fourth film with Yogaraj Bhat, after Mungaru Male, Gaalipata and Mugulu Nage. Speaking at the film’s pre-release event, Ganesh had said that this would be their best collaboration. “After I finished dubbing for my role in Gaalipata 2, I called him and said that this is not only one of the best scripts that he has written, but also the best that the two of us had collaborated on. Among all the films that we have done together, I believe that Gaalipata 2 is a class apart,” he said.

A tale of friendship, much like the original, Gaalipata 2 also was packaged as an entertainer with a lot of emotions at play.
